Meet us virtually at #AAJA21: August 24-28, 2021.

This year’s convention, Boldly Moving Forward, Proudly Looking Back, celebrates 40 years since AAJA’s founding in 1981, and reaffirms our commitment to AAPI representation, leadership, and ownership of the narratives about our communities in journalism. We look forward to welcoming our #AAJAFamily, from the ones who have been with us since 1981 to the newest members, to those who are returning to the fold or here in allyship, for an illuminating week of conversations, community, and skills-building.

As much as we want to see everyone in person this summer, we want everyone to be safe and healthy during the COVID-19 pandemic. So we’re going virtual again this year.  Of course, our virtual gathering will have the cornerstones of convention: training, networking and community — and like last year, will offer #AAJAFamily ways to connect that reflect our whole identities, experiences, and personhood.

This year’s convention will be held on our new events platform, Cadence. Registration is open and early bird ends on Saturday, July 31 at 11:59 PM PT so sign up now to lock in the lowest rate.

Due to our new membership and registration system, all memberships must be purchased 24 hours prior to the closing of registration in order to access membership rates.

Registration will close August 21, 2021 at 11:59 PM PT. Memberships must be purchased no later than Thursday, August 19, 2021 at 11:59 pm PT to ensure access to membership rates for convention.
